Lessons Learned

▪ Both quality and quantity go up when those who did this the first time share what they learned with newcomers.

▪ An artist who doesn't finish a story working alone on Day 1 can do very well when paired with a writer on Day 2.

▪ While suggesting new words for the hat, don't add one out of sadistic amusement thinking about the unlucky guy who has to incorporate perpetual kitten. You might be that guy.

▪ Clarify that the copyright rule means no fan fiction.

▪ If you plan a story longer than 8 pages, be 120% certain you really want to draw that much material in one sitting.

Discussing each other's stories while the work carries on . . .

For an extra creative nudge, our creators drew words from a hat to incorporate into their stories however they saw fit, whether as images, text, metaphors, themes. Two stories took their titles from words their authors drew.  Nicole Smith draws her word from our Mad Hatter hat.
